Bridging Divides, Building Community, and Putting Auburn First!

Bridging Divides, Building Community, and Unleashing Auburn’s Full Potential!

Auburn, we've got work to do.

Like so many of us, Brian and his wife were drawn to Auburn for its breathtaking beauty, vibrant atmosphere, and tight-knit communities. However, the onset of the pandemic has presented unprecedented obstacles that our local government has been sluggish to address. Issues such as drug use, homelessness, a dwindling population, and pressing infrastructure demands have only intensified. Brian Lott is running for Auburn City Council Position 7, and he’s ready to get to work to put Auburn first!

Like many people, I have worked a wide variety of jobs. I’ve been an apprentice glazier, produce manager, and I’ve refurbished and programmed banking equipment. I earned the opportunities to work at the World University Games, two World Cup Soccer Tournaments, Olympics as well as a Democratic National Convention.

Currently, I’m the Chief Administrative Officer for a local food technology company. I know how to get things done and find solutions to challenging issues.  And as anyone in Auburn knows, we’ve got our fair share of challenging issues.

My wife and I, along with our two dogs and two cats, have chosen Auburn as our home. I would be honored to earn your vote so that I can use my experiences and love for this community on City Council to ensure that Auburn always come first!

Priorities

Homelessness

Homelessness is harming our city’s vitality and reputation as a good place to do business and raise a family. It is no coincidence that, since the pandemic, as homelessness and crime has increased, our city’s population has begun to decrease for the first time in over 100 years. We can tackle this problem by being both compassionate and accountable to our community.

Economic Development

Instead of allowing our city to become a sleepy suburb, we cannot waste our opportunity to restore our community’s vitality and redefine our future. We need to lean into our strengths and empower our neighborhoods to take a proactive role in improving city services. We can make Auburn more appealing for employers and entrepreneurs looking to relocate or build their business.

Public Safety

Since 2020, crime across our area has risen exponentially and it seems to be getting worse by the day. In order to crack down on crime, we need to heed the advice of law enforcement in our city. That means giving police the authority to address homeless encampments, arrest drug dealers, and better respond to civilian complaints.

City Services

We’ve all seen it. A basic problem that the government can solve either doesn’t get done or takes far too long to complete. For example, it shouldn’t take nearly a year for a traffic light to be replaced. We owe it to our community to hold our city leaders accountable to ensure that our city is not just beautiful, but functional.
